ANTI - RAGGING
Mauli Group of Institution’s, College of Engineering and Technology, Shegaon strictly prohibits ragging in its campus. A strict anti-ragging policy is designed to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the menace of ragging in the institute. If anyone is found engaging in any form of ragging, he/she will face strict action, regardless of the extent of their involvement. To prevent such activities, an anti-ragging committee has been formed and it is actively operational under the direction of Hon’ble Principal.
Objectives :
- To eliminate ragging in all its forms from the institution and punish those who indulge in ragging as per the appropriate law in force.
- To ensure that a safe and welcoming environment is maintained on the campus and to protect the students from any form of ragging.
Anti Ragging Policy at MGI-COET, Shegaon :
In pursuance to the judgement of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India (Civil Appeal No. 887/2009 dated 08-05-2009), ragging is a criminal offence and is totally prohibited in the campus.
If anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, whether actively or passively, or being a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with the regulations as framed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) vide Gazette Notification No. F.1-16/2007 (CPP-II) dated 17-06-2009 of the Government of India and Regulation Councils as well as under the provision of any penal law for the time being in force.
Institutional Initiatives to promote ragging free campus :
- Monitoring by CCTV Cameras:
CCTV cameras are placed in order to monitor student activities at vital points in the campus and hostel premises.
- Anti-ragging Undertaking:
As per the instructions of the government, Anti-ragging Undertakings are taken from all students at the time of admission. The submission of the document ensures the students’ commitment of compliance with the government’s policy of eradicating ragging.
- Organizing Awareness Programs:
Awareness Programs are regularly organized to educate the students about the ills of Ragging and the need to curb it at all levels. In these programs, detail information is given about the serious consequences of ragging and the legal measures to be followed to get rid of ragging.
- Anti-ragging Warning Boards in the College Premises:
Anti-ragging warning boards are placed at different locations in the campus for the information of students and parents.
